Tri-City Pitching Coach Rick Aponte (56)
Aponte spent 6 seasons pitching in Houston's minor league system from 1976 to 1981. From 1981 to 2006, Aponte stayed with the organization as a coach, scout and manager until he became the bullpen coach for the Washington Nationals in 2006 under Manny Acta (Aponte had coached Acta early in his career). Aponte returned to the Astros organization in 2009. In 2011, he was the pitching coach for the Greeneville Astros and will reprise that role for Tri-City in 2012.
