Arizona Fall and Winter League Recaps - 11/1

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

Peoria over Mesa 7-3
Since RHP Jarred Cosart is pitching in the Rising Stars game on Saturday, his turn in the rotation was skipped and RHP Nick Tropeano got the start. Tropeano pitched two innings and allowed one hit with four strikeouts. Over eight appearances, he has a 2.45 ERA and a 0.818 WHIP. LHP Alex Sogard pitched one and two-thirds innings in relief and allowed three hits and no runs of his own, but did allow two inherited runners to score. 1B Jon Singleton was 1-for-5 with a double, three strikeouts and scored a run. George Springer got the start in right field and went 0-for-3 with a bases loaded walk and a strikeout. 3B Bobby Borchering was 2-for-4 with a double, strikeout and run scored. In case you missed it, there was a nice  article from MLB.com about the Astros Arizona Fall League prospects that came out yesterday.
