VENEZUELAN WINTER LEAGUE

Caracas over Zulia 2-1
RHP Rhiner Cruz pitched the eighth inning for Caracas, allowing no hits and no runs with one strikeout. Caracas now trails Magallanes by only one game in the round robin playoffs.

PUERTO RICAN WINTER LEAGUE

Caguas over Carolina 14-2

RHP Raul Rivera got thumped in his start for Carolina as he allowed seven runs on eight hits and a walk in only one and a third innings and was charged with the loss. He faced 13 batters and struck out two. Kiké Hernandez got the start at third base and went 1-for-4 before being lifted for a pinch-hitter while teammate Rene Garcia was hitless with two strikeouts. Carolina fell to four games out in the round robin playoffs. Caguas is tied for the lead.
