[Note from Jayne: Due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e., life), I won't be posting the winter league cumulative stats until Tuesday. In other news, my bathroom remodeling is almost complete!]

Now with weekend Liga Paralela action!

LIGA PARALELA (VENEZUELAN MINOR LEAGUE)

12/13 Games

Seattle 6, Magallanes 5

Magallanes led 5-2 at stretch time, but the Mariners rallied to score 4 unanswered to walk off with a win.

Magallanes
1B Luis Alvarez: 1-4, solo HR (4), K
C Ernesto Genoves: 1-4, solo HR (1)

Tiburones 13, Caracas 1

Caracas might have scored first, but it was all Tiburones in this one, as they put up a baker's dozen. All 13 of those runs were unanswered.

Tiburones
SS Alex Gonzalez: 2-3, RBI, R, BB; unfortunately, it was a rough day in the field for him, as he was charged with 3 errors.
C Marlon Avea: 1-3, 2 R, BB

Bravos 13, Tampa Bay 2

Bravos scored the first 13 runs of the game as they absolutely mauled the Rays' Venezuelan contingent.

Bravos
RF Carlos Perdomo: 3-6, 2 R; This is the first time I've ever seen a box score that has him as a starting outfielder. Has this happened before? According to his Baseball-Reference page, Perdomo has made 1 appearance in right field; that occurred in 2009, when he was playing for the VSL Phillies.

11/14 Games

Bravos 11, Detroit 10

Perdomo also saw time in the outfield in this game; he started the game at 2nd, then shifted over to LF later on. As for the game, Bravos outlasted the Tigers in a shootout.

Bravos
2B/LF Carlos Perdomo: 0-4, RBI, R, BB

Caribes 12, Tiburones 2

Well, on Saturday, Tiburones ended up having a dozen runs hung on them. On the other hand, Edwin Villarroel had a fine performance on the mound for Caribes.

Caribes
LHP Edwin Villarroel: W (2-6), 7.1 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 9 K

Tiburones
RHP Gerardo Juarez: 2 IP, 3 H, ER, 2 K

La Guaira 4, Magallanes 0

Magallanes
C Luis Alvarez: 0-3
1B Ernesto Genoves: 1-3, K

LIGA MEXICANA DEL PACIFICO

Mazatlán 6, Guasave 4

Guasave trailed 6-1 after 3 innings, and then they attempted a comeback that fell just short.

Algodoneros de Guasave
RF Leo Heras: 1-4, BB
1B Japhet Amador: 0-4

LIGA DE BEISBOL DOMINICANO

Estrellas 3, Gigantes 0 in 10 innings

Unfortunately, a fine start from Rudy Owens went to waste as the Giants of Cibao put up 10 zeros against the bottom club in the Dominican League. Rhiner Cruz was the first man out of the bullpen and posted 1.2 perfect innings.

Gigantes del Cibao
LHP Rudy Owens: 6.1 IP, 3 H, BB, 4 K
RHP Rhiner Cruz: 1.2 IP, 2 K

Toros 4, Escogido 1

Toros del Este
CF Teoscar Hernandez: Entered game as a pinch-runner in the 8th. He scored, then remained in the game as the CF. He did not appear at the plate.

LIGA DE BEISBOL PROFESIONAL ROBERTO CLEMENTE (PUERTO RICO)

Carolina 3, Santurce 1

The Santurce offense was shackled all game, as their lone run came in the form of a Jonathan Singleton solo shot in the top of the 9th, his 9th. On the other side of the coin, Enrique Hernandez continues to display his fine form for Carolina, hitting an RBI double in the 7th for their final run.

Gigantes de Carolina
2B Enrique Hernandez: 2-4, 2B, RBI, K
1B Jobduan Morales: 1-4

Cangrejeros de Santurce
CF Adron Chambers: 0-3, BB, 2 K
