Astros Minor League Snapshot

Six weeks have now come and gone since the start of the minor league season and we're past the quarter mark. Let's take a look at where things stand.

OKLAHOMA CITY

2nd   22-18   .550   -.-GB   W2

The Redhawks are in second place in the American Northern Division because of a .006 difference in win percentage to first place Iowa. (Iowa has played four fewer games than Oklahoma City and has a .556 win percentage with two fewer wins and two fewer losses.) They are coming off a split with the third place Colorado Springs Sky Sox team (3 games behind OKC) followed by an off day on Wednesday.

The RedHawks are now headed on a 12-day road trip with four games each against three American Southern Division teams. First up are Nashville and New Orleans. For the season, Oklahoma City has a 1-3 record against first place Nashville and a 6-2 record against the last place New Orleans team.

In the South Division, the Hooks trail Frisco by five games and Midland by two. They lead the 4th place Missions team by three games and will conclude a series with that team in San Antonio today (they are currently leading the series 2-1). The Hooks will then host Midland for four. They are 3-5 against the RockHounds for the season. That will be followed by an off day/travel day as they head to face the second place North Division Arkansas Travelers, a team they have not faced yet this season.

LANCASTER

Lancaster is currently tied with Lake Elsinore for first place in the South Division, with High Desert only trailing by one game. Lancaster will host the rubber game against the North Division first place Bakersfield team tonight followed by four on the road against Rancho Cucamonga and three in Bakersfield. Rancho Cucamonga trails the South Division leaders by five games. The JetHawks are 1-2 against Rancho this season.

Quad Cities is currently tied with Wisconsin for fifth place in the 8-team division, seven and a half games out of first. After winning six in a row, the River Bandits made it back to .500 only to fall in their next two games. They will face first place Kane County on the road for four followed by three at home against 7th place Burlington. The Bandits are 2-2 against Kane County. Next week's series against Burlington will be their first meeting of the season.
