AUSTRALIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE

Adelaide 13, Sydney 5

The Bite, who top the table in Australia, got a grand slam in the 8th to win the series against the Blue Sox. Chan-Jong Moon finished 2-3 with a double, a walk, and 2 runs scored.

Next weekend, the Bite will make a trip to the West Coast of Australia, where they will take on the Perth Heat.

LIGA MEXICANA DEL PACÍFICO

Jalisco 3, Mazatlán 2 (Jalisco leads series 3-0)

Leo Heras finished 1-4 with 2 strikeouts for Jalisco, who are now 1 win away from advancing to the next round.

Game 4 is in Mazatlán and will take place at 7:30 Mountain.

Results from Saturday

Carolina 6, Caguas 3

Carolina got into the win column as they doubled up Caguas. Carlos Corporán went 1-2 with a walk, while Jobduan Morales grounded into a double play as a pinch-hitter in the 6th. He remained in the game at 1B, and he later drew a walk and scored a run.

Roberto Peña finished 0-3 with a strikeout for Caguas.

Santurce 3, Mayagüez 1

Ruben Sosa got the start in center field. He went 0-5, but he drove in a run when he grounded into a force out and beat out a double play in the 2nd.

Results from Sunday

Santurce 9, Caguas 1

Santurce will emerge from the first weekend of round robin play as the lone undefeated team. Sosa finished 2-5. Roberto Peña entered the game in the 7th and finished out the game behind the plate, going 0-2.

Mayagüez 3, Carolina 2 in 11 innings

Carlos Corporán went 0-4 for Carolina.

After an off day, the league resumes play on Tuesday. The matchups from Sunday will be the same.

The 2 games from Saturday both ended 2-1, with Caballos topping Águilas and Industriales defeating Indios.

Águilas 7, Indios 2 in 11 innings

Two Astros appeared for Indios: Rodrigo Ayarza was a defensive replacement in right field and went 0-1. Cris Santamaria pitched 4 innings and allowed a run, a hit, walked 2, and struck out 1.

Industriales 1, Caballos 0

Tyler White had the only hit for Caballos. Telvin Nash went 0-3.

The 4 teams will wrap up their brief 2-game sets tonight. Both games will take place at 7:00 Eastern.
